Ad-Virtua Inc. (Kita-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Seitaro Mizuno) will hold "The Room You Can't Leave Without Debugging" (short name: the Debug Room), a hands-on indie game exhibition event, on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

At this event, visitors play indie games that are unfinished or still in development and report bugs and impressions from their playthrough on the spot, aiming to "escape." Admission is free with advance registration.

Background: Creating ground where developers and players grow titles together

The game industry is livelier than ever thanks to the expansion of indie development and the spread of streaming culture. In overseas game communities, there is a strong culture of developers and players building communities together and brushing up titles side by side.

In Japan, by contrast, the culture of developers and players forming a community together and improving titles as one has not taken deep root.

By deliberately exhibiting games still in development — bugs and rough edges included — this event offers a place where players themselves can take part in the process of growing a game.
Through bug reports and improvement suggestions, we aim to spark active communication between developers and players.

Event Highlights

1. Players can join the process of making better games as a "debugger for a day"

Visitors play games as a "game debugger for a day" and report bugs, improvement points, and impressions to the developers. Collect a set number of "debug stickers" awarded for their reports, and you can "escape" the former school.
The feedback a player gives may end up reflected in the retail version released later — that kind of experience awaits.

2. Limited stickers awarded by number of debug and feedback reports

Participants who successfully escape the school receive venue-exclusive stickers by the illustrator Tsuchinoko Kizuchi.

Collect plenty of "debug stickers" and you will receive rarer limited stickers.

3. Try out pre-release indie games

We plan 20 booths, centered on indie games that are pre-release or still in development.

Visitors can be among the first to play titles not yet out in the world, and works still heading toward completion.

4. Special talk by game development YouTuber "Hirohasu"

On the day of the event, game development YouTuber "Hirohasu" will also give a special talk.

(The talk is scheduled for 15:30–17:00 on Sunday, July 26, 2026.)

5. A rare game exhibition held in a former school

This is one of the rare events held on the site of a closed school in Tokyo.
Enjoy a slightly unusual exhibition experience in a venue with a retro atmosphere.
